One potato, two potato, three potato, four

The Year R children and Mr C. have been busy growing potatoes over the last few weeks. Last week Mr C. came and helped the children dig the potatoes up. We had a huge harvest! Today Mrs S. worked with the children to make potato salad that the children tasted and shared with children in other year groups. Thank you so much to Mrs S and Mr C you are brilliant!

  2. Wow, they look great potatoes, bigger than the ones we've grown at home, well done Year R. Cayla told me all about the potato salad today, it was great to hear all about it - including how you shouldn't spit it back in the bowl if you don't like it! Cayla enjoyed it too Taylor!

  3. Liam was also really pleased with the potato salad that they made with their school grown potatoes! But I think they all went off it after the spit in the bowl incident :O. Liam told me I had to go to the shops buy some potatoes, bury them in the ground, water them, dig them up and they are ready to eat, easy as that :/ :D. Well done year R another great learning experience.

  4. I just feel I need to clarify no one ate out of a bowl that had been spat in. We had a massive bowl of potato salad and decanted it in to smaller bowls so children could take a spoonful each from the bowl (clean unused spoons only were put in the bowl to remove a sample spoonful per child). One child was taken by surprise and didn't like the salad so spat it into one of the smaller sample bowls which we quickly removed before passing round a fresh bowl of salad.
